Mangaluru, Jul 11: A member of Ullal city municipal council, Haneef Kotepura (48), breathed his last due to brain haemorrhage in a hospital in the city on Monday July 10.
Haneef had been admitted into the said hospital on Monday morning with complaint of high blood pressure.
Haneef, who had entered electoral politics in 2010, had won as a BJP candidate from Kotepura first ward to Ullal town municipality. BJP is in the opposition here. The town municipality had later been upgraded as city municipality. Haneef had worked hard to get grants from the government for developing his ward. Haneef, who was identified with minorities morcha of BJP, was suffering from high blood pressure since the last some years. On Monday morning, after he complained of ill health,his friends, municipal councillor Ismail Podimonu and Mansoor, had admitted him into a private hospital in the city.
Minister, Khader, and municipal president, Hussain Kunhimonu, met the family of the deceased and consoled grieving members of the family. Haneef has left behind wife, two sons, and two daughters.
