Kasargod, Jul 10: “Sincere attempts will be made to start Saptaswara centre here in the hometown of unique arts and culture,” said Kasargod MLA N A Nellikunnu.

He spoke after inaugurating the concluding ceremony of a month long Yakshagana training workshop held under the aegis of Yakshagana Research Centre, Kasargod Government College on Sunday July 9.

“There should be attempts to unite various cultures. The audience should be able to relish all kinds of art including Yakshagana and Mapillepat on one stage. The state government will be urged to open Saptaswara center,” he said.



Kasargod Government College acting principal Dr T Vijayan presided over the ceremony.

District additional magistrate K Ambujakshan, chairperson of Kasargod municipality Beefathima Ibrahim, member of municipal council Savitha K, Manjeshwar Govinda Pai Memorial Centre Gilivindu Bhavan administrator Dr K Kamalaksha, Natyaguru Diwan Shivashanker Bhat, Subbannakodi Rama Bhat, Yakshagana Research Centre administrator Dr Ratnaker Mallamoole and others spoke on the occasion.

Advocate Adooru Umesh Naik, Purushotham Master and others were present.

Dr Rathnaker Mallamoole welcomed everyone. Dr Rajesh Bejjangala proposed the vote of thanks.
