Rio de Janeiro, July 5 (IANS): Vasco da Gama have signed former Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Paulista and ex-Besiktas left-back Ramon as they bolster their squad for Brazil's Serie A football championship.
Both players were presented to the media after passing medical exams on Tuesday and could be available for Vasco's home clash with local rivals Flamengo on Sunday, club officials said, reports Xinhua news agency.
"I'm ready if I'm called upon. There is no better game to make your debut than a derby against Flamengo. I want to be a part of it," Ramon said.
Ramon, who made 70 appearances for Turkish giants Besiktas from 2013 to 2016, joins Vasco from Antalyaspor while Bruno Paulista arrives after a spell with Portugal's Sporting Lisbon.
Vasco did not provide financial details of the transfers.
"I'm in good shape and if the coach chooses me, I'll be ready," Bruno said.
Vasco are currently sixth in Brazil's Serie A standings, 13 points behind leaders Corinthians with five wins from 11 matches.
