Mangaluru, Jun 30: In a proud moment for Mangaluru, the city-based 'Nostalgia' trio team of Gavin Rodrigues, Leo Sequeira and Nicky Pinto has made it to the national-level Dance Plus3 reality show.
The show will kick start from July 1 and will be telecast on Star Plus televison channel every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm.
Remo D'Souza will be the super judge of the show. Dancers and choreographers Shakti Mohan, Dharmesh Yelande and Punit Pathak are the three captains (mentors) on this iconic dance reality show. They will be mentoring the contestants throughout the season and guiding them to improve their performances.
This time, the reality show has got a boost as the difficulty factor is 'One Level Up'. Remo D'Souza has brought his own squad of internationally acclaimed dancers who are extremely talented and the Dance Plus contestants have to compete with them. The one who defeats Remo's Squad will be the winner of Dance Plus Season 3. These dancers include dance champions from Japan, India, France and USA. The contestants in Dance Plus Season 3 going to have tough time this season.
The auditions of Dance Plus 3 were held at 16 locations throughout India and the Nostalgia team gave its initial auditions in Bengaluru on May 23. Later they had to clear more auditions in Mumbai to enter this prestigious national reality show.
Gavin Rodrigues was the finalist of Boogie Woogie International in both junior and senior categories and has even won choreographer Saroj Khan's dance auditions in Mangaluru. Studying in the final year at Welcomegroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration at Manipal University, last year he won the Campus Idol title in Udupi district. He has won several prizes in solo, duet, group and impromptu dance competitions held in Mangaluru and Dubai, including Revels, Utsav and YaYa Ind-Ya Mayaya.
Leo Sequeira, has just completed his commerce studies from St Aloysius College, Mangaluru and has been the choreographer at the Mangalore Excellent Dance Academy. He has won various inter-collegiate competitions including Hip-Hop International India, Vision X-Plosion 2015, Jalwa-3, Adrenaline - 2017 and Revels-2016.
Nicky Pinto is pursuing his final year commerce studies at St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. He has won several dance competitions including Adrenaline - 2017, Dance Mania, Dance Face-Off, Battle-2016, Painzana-2016, Natyarasa Cultural Event and Young World Fest.
The three have together taken part in many of the cultural events in and around Mangaluru and been part of the several team competitions that have won prizes for them.
The trio had given their auditions for Dance Plus 2 last year, but could not enter the television round.
It's going to be solid dance battle among the top selected dancers of India who are born to dance and they are very unique and special in their quality. Here's wishing lots of luck to the Mangalurean team!
