Indeed Smart Computing is the need of the day. Of course we have a smart Director over there now who has not lost any time taking the lead role.

It is good to see Dr Anirban Prabhu, president of Computer Society of India, the chief guest for the programme inaugurating the seminar by lightening the lamp along with Fr Wilfred Prakash D'Souza, director, SJEC, Fr Rohith D'Costa, assistant director, SJEC, Dr Joseph Gonsalves, principal, SJEC, Dr Rio D'Souza, HoD-CSE, Dr Sheryl Grace Coloco, HoD-EEE, Sumangala N, HoD-MCA and Sridevi Saralaya, associate professor, department of computer science and engineering, SJEC.

Ever since the St. Joseph's Engineering College made a beginning the progress has been great and now with Fr. Wilfred Prakash taking over the show from an equally efficient director there should be all round grouth.

I join scores of people in wishing the management every success.

We have come a long way in India to achieve the Communication Network thru the best of innovation and technology. Today, we have the right Institutions all over India with the right people to lead our Educational pathway for greater success. Strange as it might sound, we have constantly been approached by so many intellectual stalwarts in America as to why and how India has advanced so much so fast in the I.T. discipline where we have hundreds of thousands of Indians currently serving in so many private as well as public sector Organizations throughout North America.

Our answer to them is simple and candid: "We are a hard working Nation striving every day for a greater success. We have paved way for millions of students to get educated in best of our Colleges and Universities of India in order to cater for the needs of not only India but to many countries of the world, especially the Western world where the Economy and Industry is growing ten fold.".

We also tell many of our close associates that India's hard working and honest personnel know how to render loyalty and sincerity in all that we indulge ourselves in the Western world, and how our "family value" system has helped us and our families to grow and prosper with discipline. Most importantly, we also frankly confess to them that with our Vegetarian diet we have produced hundreds of millions of good mathematicians and scientists in India, and therefore our spirit of professionalism has a certain place and opportunity in the foreign society that we blend so easily and so enthusiastically.

St. Joseph's Engineering at Vamanjoor is dear to our heart. We visited the Institution while the project was under construction, and the same night we have had the privilege of having Mnsgr. Fred Pereira and Fr. Valerian D'souza to our home for dinner where they shared with us their long term vision for SJEC. How true it is that God is always kind to us and all our students who are the pillars of our Society.
