Dajiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SB)
Mangaluru, Jun 28: Konkani film 'Sophiya' is all set to complete a successful run of 50 days in a theatre at Mangaluru. A film running for 50 days is a matter of pride for all cine goers as well as the entire Coastalwood.
Winning accolades from fans and critics alike and having gotten the patronage of discerning cinema-goers, Sophiya, a family entertainer, explored a genre, that has left an indelible impression on those with an astute taste. Producer Janet Noronha, has received congratulatory messages from the film personalities of both Coastalwood and Sandalwood, and from fans and well-wishers.
Directed by Harry Fernandes, Sophiya struck a chord with the audiences from day one. However, the crowning glory is the fact that a film in this genre — without the brouhaha of typical action — managed to dominate the mind space of people for a glorious 50 days. This is a rare feat for Coastalwood movies these days.
The cast and crew will celebrate the 50th day of screening at Prabhath theatre on Friday, June 30 with cinema lovers. Fr Richard Coehlo, director of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions and Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld media group will grace the occasion.
