Bengaluru, Jun 26: A man survived crocodile attack, which is rare, but lost his left arm on Sunday, June 25.

Mudit Dandwate (26), an IIT graduate from Indiranagar, is the unfortunate victim.

Mudit had gone to Mahadeshwara temple with his female friend which is around 38 kilometres from city. They had taken their two dogs also with them.

After visiting the temple, Mudit and his friend decided to take a plunge in the Thattakere Lake adjacent to the temple in Anekal forest division, along with the dogs. The place is 15 Kilometres away from Bannergatta National Park and is frequented by forest department personnel. 

A juvenile crocodile attacked them around 7.30 am while they were in the lake. The crocodile grabbed Mudit’s left arm and tried to pull him inside the water.

When his friend screamed for help, four forest officials came and saved them. By then Mudit’s left was chewed off by the crocodile.

The forest staff rushed Mudit to a hospital in city, He is presently in the ICU.

Mudit Dandwate is a native of Nagpur. The IIT graduate came to Bengaluru two years ago to launch a start up.

His parents have rushed to the city upon receipt of the news.
