Mangaluru: Three feared drowned after boat capsizes at Sasihitlu

Mangaluru, Jun 25: Three persons who went fishing into the waters at Sasihitlu near here have been feared drowned.

The incident took place at Alive Bagilu in Sasihitlu.

The three persons are yet to be identified.

It is said that they were sailing from Chitrapur to Sasihitlu when their boat got caught in the strong waves and capsized.

The locals and rescue teams are looking for the missing men.

    This was not a good time to go fishing by the three men. Even expert fishermen do not dare to go fishing as the weather changes all of a suddenly and you are caught up in the sea where gusty winds and storm sweeps the boat as well as the men.

    Partly agree with Jossey...
    But life jackets too are useless in swirling waves...
    They choke you anyways...
    Sad indeed... May God give them solace...
    And their families strength and courage to move on...

    there is restricting of fishing in rainy season, even insurance companies not settling claims for loss during this period. fishermen already warned not venture in the sea , still they go risking their life.very bad news to read.

    I think it is happens due to less of awareness about day to day climate updation by the fisheries department to fisherman. It was sudden wind came today morning, which this poor fisherman's are not aware.
