Mangaluru, Jun 24: President of Dakshina Kannda Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Harish Poonja condemned the statement made by the Youth Congress president Mithun Rai against Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat on Friday June 23.

Speaking in appreciation of Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Harish Poonja addressing media personnel said, “Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat is a nationalist, leader of Hindu society and a social worker who is widely accepted by the Hindu society. He has been there for the Hindu society in times of crisis and has solved many problems. He has always done what a sincere Hindu is expected to do. He has been a Vivekananda to guide and a Shivaji to lead the Hindu society.

He slammed Mithun Rai saying, “Dr Prabhakar Bhat does not need any certificate from a person like Mithun Rai who has no reverence towards religion to be called a Hindu leader nor has he any idea about the religion. It is only Prabhakar Bhat’s name that always appears on temple invitations for delivering religious speeches and never Ramanath Rai or Mithun Rai as they have no idea of Hinduism at all."

Recalling the achievements of Prabhakar Bhat he said, “He is part of a number of educational institutions as well as the Vivekananda educators association. He is also the convener of Vidya Kendra and has educated thousands of children with free education. He has also been enlightening children on traditional practices and on patriotism. Dr Bhat has been the president of Shree Ram Mandir and has actively participated as president of Bhramakalasha and other activities. He has also studied the religious books of Hinduism and is worthy to lead the Hindu society."

Terming Mithun Rai as 'cunning cow lover' he said, "Rai had promised to distribute cows in Moodbidri with an agenda of winning the election, but never came forward to oppose the illegal transportation and slaughtering of cow. Cows are being stolen from the houses of the poor." He wondered if Mithun was blind to this. "This is the naked truth of your cunning love towards cows,” he said.

Commenting on the statement of Congress member Shashidhar Hegde regarding the participation of the minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada in the renovation of temples, Harish Poojary said, “Ramanath Rai’s disciples loot forests for their personal benefits in the name of the temple renovation.”

“The Congress ministers and Congress party are the reason for provocation and declaring communal clashes in the district. The Congress party is the reason for the disturbance of peace in the district. Mithun, we demand you to stop giving your opinion on unethical promotions,” he concluded.
