Mangaluru, Jun 22: Members of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) held a protest condemning the union government’s labour policies and also the failure of ‘NITI Aayog’ in front of the DC’s office on Thursday, June 22.
Addressing the protesters Viswanath Shetty, president, BMS state unit said, “Labourers in the country are in doubt and shock due to the unclear and misleading labour policies of the central government. All labourers had given unconditional support to the government every time, be the general elections or demonetization. But now, they all are feeling cheated by the government. There are policies of the government which adversely affect labourers and industries. NITI Aayog has failed completely to provide justice to labour class. It is trying to spoil the government’s goodwill. So the government should think about NITI Aayog, if it is necessary or not."
"If the government does not come up with solutions to these issues in stipulated time, then BMS will be forced to start a massive agitation against the government," he warned.
In his speech Narayana shetty , president, district BMS said, "NITI Aayog is the brainchild of NDA government. But now, the Aayog has failed to give right suggestions to the government on the issues of industries and labourers. If the government acts as per NITI Aayog’s advice, agriculture field will collapse very soon. The Aayog always favours MNCs and the corporate world. They are not interested in helping the labour category and small scale industries. It is condemnable and the goverment should think about it.”
