Udupi, Jun 20: BJP state president, B S Yeddyurappa, who has undertaken statewide tour to study drought, will visit the Dalit colony at Karkala along with his team on June 23, said Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, district BJP president. He was addressing a press conference here on Monday June 19.
"State secretaries of the party, Arvind Limbavali and Ravikumar, as well as MP, Shobha Karandlaje, will be in the team. After visiting the Dalit colony, Yeddyurappa will take part in the convention of party activists being held at 11.30 am at Manjunath Pai Hall at Karkala. He will arrive in the town at 3.30 pm and address a press conference. He will preside over a meeting of district office bearers of the party in the party office here at 4.30 pm. At 5 pm, he will participate in the convention of party activists being held at Ammanni Ramanna Hall here," Hegde explained.
District BJP secretary,Kuilady Suresh Nayak, and district spokesperson, Katapadi Shankar Poojary, were present.
On this occasion, Hegde sought apology from chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, for violating protocol during the visit of the President by staying away from the President's programmes. "Siddaramaiah purposefully stayed away from accompanying the President to Udupi as in that case, he would have been under the compulsion to visit Srikrishna Math. Therefore, he should tender an apology to the entire Hindu community," he demanded.
