Kuwait, Apr 14: Tulukoota Kuwait's Family picnic was held at Mishref Garden on Friday April 11. The weather on Friday morning was so inviting and fabulous that the picnic was well-attended with over 1100 members' family and friends. Every one was able to come together for fun and relaxation.
The day's activity began with prayer and seeking blessings for the success of the day. Releasing of pigeons- symbols of peace marked the inaugural ceremony. This was followed by flag hoisting ceremony by the president Satishchandra Shetty. March past was the attraction of the morning as this was introduced in Tulukoota family picnic for the first time.
Children reveled in the various sports activities provided at the picnic. The tiny tots perfectly enjoyed " Collecting the Balls" and the " Clip Race" , while the kids of age group 6 -10 kept themselves entertained in skipping race, basket ball, chakkuli race, and backward race. Teenagers actively participated in the Slow Cycle race, high jump, and one-legged race. Tarai Katta, one of the favorite sports of Tulukoota picnic was followed by breaking the pot by biru - a special attraction introduced this year for the men at Tulukoota picnic.
The ladies also enjoyed perfect attention and applause participating in breaking the pot blind folded. Flour and spoon game for ladies attracted large number of participants, and the organizers had a tough time deciding the winner due to active participation of the ladies. Team games like kabbadi, volleyball, and throwball had great teams and overwhelming and enthralling audience. Tug-of-war left the audience energized, as they continued applauding and supporting the participating teams. Quiz sessions throughout the picnic was yet another surprise item at the picnic. Lunch served by Oriental restaurant complemented the fun and excitement of the day.
Prizes were awarded to the winners later during the evening. Raffle draw and Mosar Kudike could not be conducted owing to out break of sandstorm and showers. Although the weather got a bit damp , the spirit and enthusiasm of the crowd held out till the end.
