Karkala, Jun 14: In a shocking incident, a group entered a jewelry store on Venkataramana temple main road here on Monday, June 12 and decamped with gold ornaments weighing 72 grams.
Two women and a man came in a Scorpio vehicle to the jewelry store. Hoodwinking the staff, the trio stole a Karimani chain weighing 32 grams and another Karimani chain weighing 40 grams kept in a tray in front of them. The CCTV in the showroom has captured the theft.
The value of stolen items is said to be Rs 2,35,000. Showroom manager Venkatesh Prabhu has filed a complaint about the theft at the town police station.
Theft at textile shop at Bandimath
The same group had also stolen clothes in the guise of customers from a textile shop at Bandimath before going to the jewellery shop. The theft was also caught in the CCTV camera there.
