Mangaluru, Jun 10: District President of Youth Janata Dal(S) Akshith Suvarna alleged that Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) was not performing its duties effectively.

Addressing the mediapersons on Friday, June 9 he said, “The public is facing numerous problems all due to the carelessness of MCC. Action has not been taken by the Corporation in relation to number of potholes, unattended garbage piles, poor infrastructure and others making monsoon a threat to people’s health. There has been an alarming rise in the number of cable and sand mafias here that needs to be dealt with at the earliest. Hefty amount of donations and fees demanded by well known schools and colleges are making it difficult for children from poor background to avail good education which makes it no less than a scam. Flex banners that were meant to be banned are put up all around the town by their own party."

"Such immoral practices and negligence should be addressed and rectified. It is high time the officers wake up and act on these problems at the earliest, failing which, Youth Janata Dal will protest for people's welfare and get their grievances heard,” he added.

"Creating awareness among people that they should voice out their issues and speak for what is rightfully theirs is really important. That is what we are trying to do," he concluded.

Madhusudhan Gowda, chief secretary; Tejas Shetty, district secretary; Faizal, district secretary; Deepak, district secretary; Ashiq Ismail, district organizing secretary and Seenan, district leader of Youth JDS were present.
