Margao: Man Held for Defaming Chief Minister

Margao Apr 9: Vijay Patil (38), a native of Jalgaon Maharashtra, on Tuesday night was arrested on charges of spilling bad words to State chief Minister Digamber Kamat.

According to Margao police, Kamat was present as chief guest for a special programme in his own constituency. When he stood to address the gathering, some of his supporters chanted slogans "Kamat Zindabad'', but the culprit Patil who was present there in anger spilled bad words and changed the slogan as "chief Minister Murdabad. Following this people present caught and beat him up. 

He was then rescued by police and was taken for the medical in Hospicio Hospital Margao.

According to police, Patil works as waiter in local hotel in Margao and at the time of incident, he was under the influence of alcohol.

Margao police are investigating the case.
