Mangaluru, June 6: A public redressal meeting by police, 'Jana Samparka Sabhe', was held under the aegis of Catholic Sabha, Anjelore at Anjelore Church Hall on Sunday, June 4. Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Diocese president Anil Lobo was present as the chief guest.
Parish priest of Anjelore Church, Fr Mathew Vas, presided over the meeting. Resource persons Kankanady police station inspector Ravi Naik and traffic station inspector Suresh Kumar gave information on the legal system.
The police officials requested the public to inform them if there are were any problems. “Do not pay heed to false rumours. Cooperate with police to provide solutions to problems”, they said.
Nearly 200 people had gathered for the public reddressal. More than 20 people expressed their problems, suspicions and demands to the officials. Senior officials from Mescom, corporation officials, representatives and local corporators present on occasion showed solutions to people.
Those present at the meetig were of the opinion that such meetings should be held again in the future.
Alwyn D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Catholic Sabha president Philomena Tauro proposed the vote of thanks. Albert Lasrado compered the programme. The meeting concluded with the national anthem.
