Mumbai, June 5 (IANS): Automobile major Tata Motors on Monday announced it has appointed Satish Borwankar as its Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect.
"Tata Motors Board has decided to extend Satish Borwankar's tenure as the Executive Director, for a period of two years and has appointed him as the Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect," the automobile major said in a statement.
According to the statement, in another unrelated development, Ravindra Pisharody resigned as the Executive Director (Commercial Vehicles), and as a Director of the automobile major and its associated companies for personal reasons.
"Ravindra Pisharody has resigned from his role as Executive Director (Commercial Vehicles), and as a Director of the company and its associated companies, due to personal reasons. Pisharody will continue to serve the company until further notice," the statement said.
"Tata Motors thanks Pisharody for his astute contribution to the commercial vehicle business and to the executive committee and wishes him all the very best for his future endeavours. An announcement of his successor will be made in due course."
