Kundapur, Jun 3: “As many as 13 development works worth Rs 22 crores will carried out in Byndoor Vidhana Sabha constituency under Gandhipatha-Gramapatha project of Karnataka rural roads Development Corporation. Rs one crore has been approved under SEP project which will be put to suitable use,” said Byndoor constituency MLA and president of KSRTC K Gopala Poojary.
Speaking to mediapersons at Hosadu grama panchayat office on Friday, June 2 he said, "Rs 4.5 crore each are set aside for private wells and road development under Varahi Irrigation Project. Approval for nearly Rs 60 crore worth works combining the subsidy from PWD is obtained for Mort Bridge at Vandse and Katbelthur Balikere road depending on the needs of local people. Works will start after calling tenders. Work on Movadi-Nada Bridge worth Rs seven crore is also expected soon," he said.
“Approval of Rs 10 crore for work in Hadavu, Senapura, Badakere and other places in Nada grama panchayat limits is obtained and the work will start soon. Tender has been also called for permanent brake wall to prevent sea erosion with World Bank aid of Rs 102 crore. The work will be performed applying modern technology. A proposal of Rs 96 crore for the development of Madical port has been submitted. Attempts will be made to obtain cabinet approval for the work if the department approves it. The work on Maraswamy-Padukone and Kannadakudru is completed and the PWD minister will be invited to inaugurate them after the assembly session," said Poojary.
“Several projects have been taken up after I took over as the president of KSRTC. Several buses have been introduced for the benefit of rural students and ordinary citizens of Udupi district rural area. Applications have been submitted for more such buses which will be introduced after obtaining permits. Services of buses in Bhatkal-Mangaluru, Udupi-Agumbe, Byndoor-Bengaluru, Kollooru-Bengaluru, Kundapur-Bengaluru and other routes are also introduced. Permits have been sought for buses to Kollooru from Mangaluru railway station and to Mangaluru airport from Bhatkal. Those will be put into service after receiving permits. I have spoken to the chief minister regarding requests by non-resident locals residing in Gulf countries. A decision will be taken after holding discussions with the officials," he said.
“Byndoor has received three of the Tsunami packages presented to coastal districts and the work will be taken up at a cost of Rs 12 crore. Orders have been issued to department officials concerning inspection of Yadamoge bridge. Special funds will be provided for the development of Keradi grama panchayat. Vandse will continue to be a part of Kundapur taluk and not Byndoor," he informed.
Taluk panchayat member Raju Devadiga, district KDP member S Raju Poojary, district Congress vice-president Udayakumar Shetty Muniyalu, block Congress president Sampigedi Sanjiva Shetty, Madan Kumar Uppunda, district panchayat member Gauri Devadiga, Jyothi Naik, party leaders H Manjayya Shetty, Raghurama Shetty Bijooru, Gokul Shetty, Padeep Kumar Shetty Kavradi, Anantha Movadi and Chandrashekar Poojary Arate were present.
“The demands of people in the constituency will be fulfilled on the basis of priority. As the demands are huge, they cannot be fulfilled at once. Expected development can be achieved with a little patience," said Poojary.
The MLA then conducted ground breaking ceremony for road worth Rs 198.6 lac being constructed under Namma Grama Namma Rasthe project. “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah led government is determined for the development of Byndoor constituency. Several crores of funds have been released for bridges, roads and electricity depending on the needs of people. The government should not be forgotten after the development. I will be working for the all-round development of Byndoor," he said.
