Udupi, Jun 3: A motor bike which was being driven at high speed skidded due to its excessive speed, as a result of which its rider was killed on the spot. This distressing incident which claimed a life happened at Waranga downtown on Hebri-Karkala road on Friday, June 1.

Pradeep (22) was travelling in a motor bike with Divya in the pillion towards Hebri from the direction of Karkala at breakneck speed when he lost control over the two-wheeler when passing through Waranga. As the bike skidded and got deposited on the road at high velocity, Pradeep, who was riding the bike, was tossed away from the vehicle. His head hit a car that was coming from the opposite direction, and was crushed.

The pillion rider, Divya, too suffered serious injuries in this accident. She stands admitted into KMC Hospital, Manipal. A case relating to the incident stands filed in Hebri police station.
