Mumbai, May 31: Billavara Association opened its office at Dargadaya complex, Shindemala, Kolapur district on Sunday morning, May 28.

Dakshina Kannada district BJP chief secretary Umanath Kotian delivered the keynote address.

Lokavala Nagar Parishat vice president Nitte Nadimane Sridhar S Poojary was the chief guest. Bharath Bank director, advocate S B Ameen, well known auditor of Mumbai CA Ashwajit Hejmady, Billavara Association Mumbai former honorary treasurer N A Sanil, hotelier of Kalva Harish D Salian, Kalva local office executive president Narayana Suvarna were present as guests of honour.

Bharath Bank director and new office founder and guide Chandrashekar S Poojary said that the dream of the Billavas to unite has become a reality now. Billavara Association Sangli president Narayana Poojary wished that Billavas always remain united and asked them to strengthen the unity in the community.



Vice president Sudhakar Poojary Hosmaru welcomed everyone. Ramitha Poojary and Saundarya Poojary sang a prayer song. Women's wing president Shankuntala S Poojary spoke of her aspirations. Honorary treasurer Dheeraj Poojary, working committee members Raghuram Poojary, Pravin Poojary, Shekar Poojary, Narayan S Poojary, Anand V Poojary, Ganesh Poojary, Manoj Poojary and Anand D Poojary, Chandrakshi Poojary presented flower bouquets to the guests and honoured them. Assistant editor of Akshaya monthly magazine Harish K Hejmadi introduced the guests and compered the programme. Honorary secretary Devikiran Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.

The members presented dances as part of the cultural programme. Bhramari Trust Mumbai performed Yakshagana. Karnataka Sangha child artistes performed Tulunadu dances and Pranesh performed a rhythmic yoga programme.
