Udupi, May 19: MP, Veerappa Moily, felt that the treasure house of knowledge of Madhwa principles, policies and philosophy which does not preach untouchability and inequality should be made available for everyone to study and perceive.

He was addressing a religious meeting organized at Rajangana here on Thursday May 18 on the occasion of dedication of renovation work of Srikrishna Math and outer wall of the Math.

"The fountain of Madhwa culture which sprang from among the people is flowing among the people like a stream. It is unwise to attribute superstition to great epic poetry works like Ramaya and Mahabharata," he felt.

Chairman of state legislative council, D H Shankaramurthy, said that in spite of repeated attacks from forces from outside the country,  Indian traditions and culture have survived because of the tradition of sages and hermits.

Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Math said that as compared to gravitational power of the earth which brings things down, the power of  attraction of Srikrishna uplifts people who have fallen down. Devotion in the Lord, dedication to work, and service to people are the principles preached by Madhwacharya, who was a real philosopher.   We should aim at striking an ideal balance between spirituality and life, he felt.

Dr Prabhanjanacharya delivered a lecture. Judge of Karnataka High Court, Dinesh Kumar, too spoke on the occasion. Sri Vidyatmateertha Swamiji of Prayag branch Math, junior Swamiji of Pejavar Math, Sri Vishwaprasannateertha Swamiji, junior Swamiji of Admar Math, Sri Eshapriyateertha Swamiji, MLCs, Capt Ganesh Karnik and Kota Srinivas Poojary, were present.
