New York, May 19 (IANS): Facebook has announced a partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) to live stream 20 regular season games on the social network.
The games will air weekly on the MLB Facebook page.
"The broadcast will be sourced from a local broadcaster from one of the participating teams, without local blackouts. Future Friday night games for streaming will be announced soon," technology website techcrunch.com reported on Friday.
Facebook earlier this month updated its developer policies so that people cannot use the platform just for attention grabbing and flooding people's news feeds with irrelevant content.
The move will explicitly forbid live videos that are "only images" (including animated images) or polls linked to largely inanimate material.
