Puttur, May 16: Union minster for statistics and programme implementation, and former chief minister of Karnataka, D V Sadananda Gowda, exuded confidence that his party, which will fight the next assembly election under the leadership of its chief ministerial candidate, B S Yeddyurappa, will come out victorious and achieve Mission - 150 target announced by Yeddyurappa. He assured that there is no dissidence in the state BJP.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP office here on Monday May 15, Gowda said that the three-year-old Narendra Modi government and four-year-old state government led by Siddaramaiah are poles apart in terms of achievements. "Siddaramaiah's government whiled away its time by sleeping along whereas Modi government has carried the reputation of India higher and higher in the eyes of other countries of the universe during these years," he stated.
He agreed that there had been some confusion over bitter differences between party leaders, Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa, but added that their differences will not spill out of the party boundaries. He gave the example of the state executive of the party held recently at Mysuru in which both the leaders participated.
"Siddaramaiah, who till recently projected himself as the next chief minister, has changed his stand. Realizing the stark realities, he now says that the party will decide about the chief minister. Congress lacks the team work found in BJP. It has different teams working against each other. Other than trying to save his chair, Siddaramaiah did nothing else to benefit the people of the state during his tenure," he claimed.
Gowda said that the party leaders are working in unison under the instruction of party national president, Amit Shah, and expressed confidence about forming BJP government within a year from now. He said that the union government under Narendra Modi, which will complete three years of existence on May 26, had achieved impressive GDP in spite of concerns about likely adverse affects of demonetisation exercise and that India is in the forefront of countries of the world which have been growing fast. He said that the central government has lot of achievements to its credit, but it does not believe in advertising its achievements.
District BJP president, Sanjeeva Matandoor, zilla panchayat president, Meenakshi Shantigodu, taluk panchayat president, Bhavani Chidanand, and several other party leaders were present.
