Riyadh: Khidmah Foundation hosts annual family get together

Riyadh, May 16: Khidmah Foundation Riyadh Unit (KF) hosted the 4th annual family get together at AL Rushd Resorts, Riyadh on Thursday, May 4.

The meeting commenced with the recitation of the holy Quran and translation by Mohammed Nasrullah Kandlur. The programme was immediately followed by the presentation by Janab Abdul Gafoor Shaikh Basrur. The chief guest of the event was Janab Uzair Malik Falahi. He iterated that the best sadaqa  or work of charity was to offer water to the thirsty. He said that every act of kindness was charity and that one needed to be down to earth and be kind and spread the message of Almighty God.


    






















































There were plenty of special attractions at the event. Jet Airways and Air India provided a gift voucher of one-way flight ticket to India, to two members of the audience. Joy Alukkas provided special gift vouchers. Alif International School Riyadh conducted a special drawing competition for children below 5 years, and winners were awarded attractive prizes. Exir Polyclinic set up their medical camp for normal checkups at the event.

The special attraction of the event was the felicitation programme by two intellectuals from Bhatkal and Murdeshwar - Jamaath Dr Zaheer and Dr Wasim respectively. The two felicitated Myrose Pushpalatha and her husband, both, employees of King Abdulaziz Hospital, for their act of humanity towards Abubackar Makde.

A token of appreciation was handed over by presidents of Bhatkal and Murdeshwar Jamaath, Janab Najjaf Bhatkal and Janab Ashfaque Koteshwar respectively.

Dr Zaheer conveyed a beautiful message about how one needs to always place humanity above all at all the times. And, it is these acts of kindness that the world is yearning for, in this time of hardship.

An Islamic book stall was installed at the event on behalf of the Al Huda Foundation. Free Islamic books were distributed to people of all faiths, to take benefit and better understand the peaceful religion portraying the message of brotherhood.

Various games such as tug of war, and volley ball were conducted for men, under the supervision of Janab Imtiaz Hemmady. Games were also conducted for children and ladies. Food was served by Bhatkal Caterers and went well with the public.

Finally, KF President Janab Yaseen Shirur offered a valuable talk and concluded the stage event with vote of thanks. He thanked all the KF volunteers for making the event a success, with weeks of preparation and dedication. He also thanked the executive committee members Dammam, Organizing Committee members, other members, representatives of various organizations of coastal Karnataka districts, and guests and sponsors of the programme.

A record turn-out of guests gathered at the event. The programme intended to bring all likeminded socio-community welfare organizations from coastal districts of Karnataka under one roof. KF Riyadh got support from various organizations of the coastal districts of Karnataka namely – Jamiatul Falah, Karavli Association, DKMO, Hidaya Foundation, DKSC, Panorama, BSMI, Bantwal, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Manki, Tonse Welfare Association, Al Huda Foundation, Karnataka Salafi Association, Nasratul Masakeen, Honnavar and other surrounding Jamaaths.

Event managers Abdussalam Moulana and Fazlur Rehman Kolkar compered the programme.

Shahbaz Hajika was the master of the ceremony for the event. Janab Abdul Gafoor Shaikh Basrur briefed in his presentation goals and achievements of the Foundation's activities back home. A detailed projection for the year was also presented on occasion.
