The accused, Jawaharlal Bog (29), had been accused of committing a murder within the limits of Moodbidri police station in 2014. As per the instructions of the court, the district legal services authority has found out the family of the accused with the support of police. Arrangements are being made to hand him over to the family.

Sanjeeva Poojary (71), residing at Nooyi Parottu in Padukonaje near Modbidri had been killed by hitting his head with a curdgel on April 30, 2014 in a forest area near his home. Accused, Jawaharlal Bog, had been arrested the next day. During investigation, it transpired that Jawarhall used to work with three others to dig borewell in Padumarnadu village. He has sought some drinking water from Sanjeeva Poojary. As  Poojary did not provide any water to drink, Jawaharlal got angry and hit Poojary in the head, killing him instantly.
