Bengaluru, May 12: Mirroring the performance in PU exams, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts have secured the first and second places in the state in SSLC examinations too.
The results were announced by minister for primary and higher education Tanveer Sait on Friday May 12.
While Udupi stands first with a pass percentage of 84.23, Dakshina Kannada is second with 82.39%, Chikkodi third with 80.47%, Sirsi fourth with 80.09% and Uttara Kannada 5th with 79.82%. Bidar showed the poorest performance with just over 62%.
The total pass percentage is 67.87, a dip of 8 percent from last year's.
As many as 8,56,286 students wrote the exams, out of whom 5,81,134 passed.
Poornananda from Puttur
Poornananda from Kadaba, a student of St Joachim's high school in Puttur, Sumanth Hegde of MES Kishore Kendra high school, Bengaluru, and Pallavi of SRV school, Bagalkot have scored cent percent marks of 625.
As in PU exams, girls (74.08%) outperformed boys (62.42%) once again.
A total of 924 schools have achieved cent percent results, out of which 268 are government schools, 44 aided, and 51 unaided. As many as 60 schools in the state have shown zero pass percentage.
Supplementary exams will be held from June 15 to June 22.
