Udupi, May 12: The 32 feet high idol of Jagadguru Madhwacharya was installed on the Kunjaru Durgadevi hill in the abode of Jagadguru, here on Thursday, May 11. The installation was held with prayers and religious rituals with the leadership of the chief priest of Palimar Math, Vidyadheesha Theertha Sripada.

Udupi Adamaru Math senior priest Vishwatheertha Sripada, junior priest Ishapriyatheertha Sripada, Bhandarakeri math priest Vidyeshatheertha Sripada, Pejavar math priest Vishwaprasanna Sripada and Uttaradhimath Srisathyatmatheertha Sripada were present for the rituals.











Trustees of various temples, leaders of social and religious places, MP Shobha Karandlaje, former state minister and Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA Lalaji R Mendon, former Udupi MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, zilla panchayat member Geethanjali Suvarna, elected representatives, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, M B Puranik and others were present.

Adamaru Shree Vishwatheertha Prasada said, "The 'Acharya' is a teacher of the world. The guru rises from the Lotus where he sits, to remind us of our duties when we forget them,” he said.

Palimar Vidyatheertha Sripada said,"The Acharya who is a philosopher blesses all by being at a high place."

Vamshi Krishnacharya compered the programme.
