Mysuru, May 8: The two-day state executive of the BJP which met here on Saturday and Sunday concluded with a call to all the activists of the party to come together and work for the party's victory in next year's assembly election. The executive also warned leaders against projecting themselves as prospective candidates. "There are several aspirants from each of the constituencies. If any one of them begins to claim himself or herself as future candidate, factionalism will get deep-rooted. This might work against party's interests," the leaders were warned.

Both Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa gave credit to each other during their addresses, by mentioning each other's names. At the same time, Eshwarappa was told in no unclear terms that Brigade activities should not be conducted. Addressing a press conference after the executive, general secretary of the party, Shobha Karandlaje, made it clear that Rayanna Brigade activities cannot be continued.

The executive decided to create awareness among the masses about the schemes and projects implemented by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for the benefit of common people. Some of the points towards which the people's attention can be drawn are party's strong performance in recent elections, demonetisation of currency notes. GST implementation, generic medicines, sale of stents a affordable prices, affidavit filed in Supreme Court by the centre about triple talaq issue, and steps taken to celebrate Basava Jayanti at national level, the executive felt. It was decided to enroll deprived people under Ujwala free LPG scheme, Bima scheme of the centre etc. The state government that has been showing inertia towards addressing drought will have be repeatedly sounded about its failure to work for the betterment of the state, it was felt.

The next executive will be held at Ballari on July 22 and 23, announced state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa. Yeddyurappa plans to undertake tour of the state from May 18 onward starting at Tumakuru, by allotting one day to each of the districts.

Speaking at the executive, union minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka, which has failed in all fronts, and allowed Goondaism to get foothold, is the most corrupt government the country has witnessed so far.
