Bengaluru, May 7: State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa and union chemicals and fertilisers minister H N Ananth Kumar have been directed by court here on Saturday May 6, to appear before the cyber crime police to give their voice samples relating to the bribery CD case.
While disposing of a petition, the first additional chief metropolitan magistrate gave 7 days to the two BJP leaders to appear before the investigating officer to provide their voice samples.
C M Dhananjaya, chairman of state Congress legal cell, had filed a complaint on February 15 referring to a CD which allegedly caught Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar in conversation about the payment made to the BJP high command.
The Congress had released the bribery CD after Yeddyurappa had alleged that chief minister Siddaramaiah had sent Rs 1,000 crore to the Congress top brass in New Delhi which were kickbacks received from various projects in the state. Yeddyurappa had claimed that the kickbacks included money received from the controversial steel flyover.
The police had registered a case after Congress complained about the CD and took up investigations. Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar had not turned up after the police had asked them to give voice samples. After that the Congress moved the court seeking directions to the two leaders to give their voice samples.
