Mangaluru, May 6: The Indian Stammering Association (TISA) is organizing a three-day communication workshop for people who stammer (PWS) on June 16, 17 and 18. The workshop will be held at Institute for Social Development CODP, Bejai, Mangaluru.
The goal of the workshop is to catalyze the start of self-improvement programmes for each individual that focuses on communication-enhancement and overall well-being. Their secondary goal is to build a community of PWS, who can support each other through their self-improvement journeys.
TISA is a non-profit, self-help association for PWS in India. They endeavor to assist PWS in acceptance of their stammering and overcoming the associated negative behaviors/ mindset through self-help. Their vision is a society where stammering is understood both as a significant source of suffering and a speaking-diversity.
TISA has self-help groups in most major cities where they learn to help each other and themselves; Mangaluru does not have a self-help group yet, but one may emerge as an outcome of this workshop.
This three-day communication workshop for PWS in/around Mangaluru is completely free of charge, except for food/accommodation that is billed at actual cost.
