Mangaluru: Br Victor Crasta new assistant director of Sandesha Foundation

Mangaluru, May 6: The chairman of Sandesha Foundation, Fr Henry D’Souza has appointed Br Victor Crasta OFM Cap as the assistant director of Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education.

He was welcomed to Sandesha by the Bishop of Mangaluru on May 6 at a function held here.

Br Victor Crasta hails from Lorretto Bantwal. He has completed his diploma in western music from Trinity College of Music London and has taught western music at the Capuchin Seminary Bengaluru. He has also served as the Principal of St Antony’s School, Gangondanahalli, Bengaluru, Infant Jesus School, Chikmagalur and Anugraha School, Bidar. He was honoured by education minister Basavaraja Horatti for his excellence in the field of Education.

The director of Sandesha, Fr Victor Vijay Lobo introduced Br Victor. Roy Castelino, Sandesha trustee and Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza, superior of St Ann’s Friary, Bejai were present.

    SANDESHA was the brain child of Rev. Henry D' Souza, the then Director of the trust. I have the pleasant memories of working with Rev. Henry, popularly called as "Fr. Henry". It was a continuing education experience for me to travel with my dear colleague Fr. Henry participating in different media seminars and workshops.
    I am glad that the mantle was passed on to able directors over the years.

    Sandesha Foundation is a solid foundation not only for the young men and women of Mangalore, but also a good place where young children should be encouraged to participate in various social and musical entertainments under the umbrella of Mangalore parish. Sandesh is located at an ideal site in Mangalore, and the facility that was initiated by our Bishop Henry of Bellary should be motivated to perform various new social and musical programs for the benefit of various talents that are already prevalent and also some new musical talents that Mangalore deserves.

    Brother Victor Crasta with his musical training from London, England will therefore bring some additional life to Sandesha, and we wish him best of success in all his future endeavors. Bishop Henry and also Fr. Denis D'Sa have given their very best to this prestigious Group in addition to many other priests whose name we do not remember. We like this Group very much and we admire their focus on music that need be injected into many young men a nd women of our parish.

    What a good news that Brother Victor will now spearhead this group, and we have our wholehearted support.
