Puttur, May 5: A child which was left inside the car by the family which noticed its absence much later, found to its dismay that child had become very sick. Efforts to save the child proved futile later.

Rahamath (3), daughter of Imran and Samsheera couple, residents of Ullal, breathed her last in this tragic incident. Samsheera had arrived at her parental home at Haradi in the city a few days back for her second delivery.

On Wednesday May 3, Samsheera's brother had taken the children in the house of a relative in his car. He thereafter brought them back. The family members were under the impression that all the children had come back.

After sometime, Samsheera found that Rahamath was nowhere to be seen. She called for her aloud repeatedly but got no response. Later she came near the car to check and found that Rahamath was lying down on the seat inside the car. The child was in a critical state by then due to suffocation. It was rushed to hospital, but the doctors said that Rahamath was no more.

Samsheera had given birth to a male baby three weeks ago.
