Udupi, May 3: The case in which a labourer fell down when working in an area near Moodabettu - Shankarapura, which had been recorded as an accident by the police, has now been modified as murder on the basis of revised complaint filed in the case. In this case, it was said that the labourer had fallen from a height and lost his life.
Rama (55), resident of Saraswati Nagar, Pangala near Katapadi was working in the house of Roshan from Moodubettu. It was said that Rama accidentally fell down and lost his life. On the basis of this report, acicdental death case was registered at Kaup station.
In a dramatic turn around, Rakshit, son of Rama, handed over a complaint to Kaup police saying that his father had been murdered by Roshan, Leo D'Souza and Jaya. Kaup police have accordingly changed the status of the case.
Rakshit said that Roshan, who took Rama to hospital after his murder, had called him over phone to request the former not to file a police complaint. He said that Roshan offered to settle the issue through negotiations and invited Rakshit to talk of terms of settlement, money payable etc he claimed.
The police are now awaiting postmortem report. Police sources say they would be able to investigate the case in right earnest once the report is received.
