Kasargod, Apr 30: A youth from Palakkad district has reportedly been killed in Syria, in an attack by American forces.
The youth has been identified as Abu Tahir.
Sources said that in 2013, Tahir had gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Umra (pilgrimage), after which he went missing.
He was suspected to have joined the dreaded Al Qaeda terror outfit.
Sources now say that Tahir was killed in air strikes by American forces on war-ravaged Syria.
It is said that Tahir's relatives in Sharjah receved a message about his death earlier this month.
Three Keralites suspected to have joined the ISIS were killed in Afghanistan in separate incidents. The latest casualty among them, Yahya alias Bastian, also hailed from Palakkad.
