Doha, Apr 26: The final countdown for the much-anticipated, mega finale of Gulf Baila Naach, a one-of-its-kind Konkani dance reality show has begun. Months of preparation both by the organizers and the artistes would finally be on full display before a huge audience on the grand and prestigious stage of the Regency Halls here on Friday April 28. It's also going to be curtains on the silver jubilee celebrations of hosts Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), pioneer, united forum of Mangalureans working and residing in the tiny oil-rich country of the State of Qatar.
The gala celebrations would be graced by well-known personalities who have excelled in their chosen field and have contributed immensely towards the growth and nurturing of Konkani language and traditions across the globe along with officials and people’s representatives.
P Kumaran, Indian Ambassador to Qatar will be the chief guest of the evening while J R Lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South constituency, Ronaldo Colaco, philanthropist and NRI entrepreneur, Walter Nandalike, managing director of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd are the guests of honour.

P Kumaran
He assumed his assignment as Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar in October, 2016. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1992 and prior to his appointment to Qatar he was the joint secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
An IIT Madras alumnus, he had served in various Indian missions abroad including Cairo, Washington and Colombo. Kumaran holds a B. Tech degree in Electronics and Communications from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
J R Lobo
John Richard Lobo, popularly known as J R Lobo is a current MLA of Mangaluru South constituency. A former KAS officer who had worked as the head quarters assistant to the then deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Bharat Lal Meena, commissioner of the local city corporation, and the deputy project director of KUDCEMP here, takes credit for making Pilikula Nisarga Dhama one of the tourist attractions of Dakshina Kannada by working as the director of Pilikula Nisarga Dhama Society for 18 years. As a first-time MLA he has already acquired popularity among the voters of the constituency with his clean image, administrative ability and for envisaging and efficient implementing various developmental works.
Ronald Colaco
An entrepreneur by profession and a philanthropist by vocation, is what Ronald Colaco. He is one of the prominent leaders of the Catholic community, having his roots in Mangaluru. He is presently one of the leading real estate barons in Bangalore who is involved in famous projects like Hollywood Town and Swiss Town Development.
His activities are not just concentrated around his business as he is also a social activist and a great supporter of cultural events and artistes in Karnataka. A major contributor towards charity projects, Colaco has always been in the lead in helping deserving students, schools etc. He is compassionate towards the poor and the downtrodden, understands their problems and contributes his mite for their upliftment.
As president of International Federation of Karnataka Christians’ Associations (IFKCA), Colaco has taken it upon himself to promote political and community leadership awareness among members of the Catholic community in the state. He also aspires to see members of the community come up in the political forefront by contesting elections to various bodies.
He recently attended upon a special invitation by President Donald Trump of USA, the 65th Annual National Prayer Breakfast which was held on February 2 in Washington DC.
Walter Nandalike
Walter D’Souza Nandalike is the founder of revolutionary media Daijiworld. What started as a hobby almost a decade and half ago, has turned into a media revolution in the coastal Karnataka. After daijiworld.com, he initiated Daijiworld Weekly in 2009. In the year 2014 he launched Daijiworld 24x7 TV channel which has become household name in the coastal region. Daijiworld also established an Audio-Visual Studio, a world-class state-of-art studio, first-of-its-kind in the region.
Apart from all these achievements, Walter is also known for the charity work initiated through www.daijiworld.com. Under his vision, over Rs 12 crore help has reached directly to the needy without the interference of middlemen. This deed has been widely appreciated by the society.
