Mangaluru: Human Rights Awareness Programme to be held at Town Hall on Apr 26

Mangaluru, Apr 24: District president of the Karnataka Human Rights panel Vijay Kumar addressing media persons on Monday April 24 briefed them about the Human Rights Awareness Programme to be oragnised at Town Hall on Wednesday April 26, from 10 am to 2 pm.

The programme will seek to raise awareness about the rights of students and workers. Former soldiers, social workers and differently abled achievers will be felicitated.

Meera C Saksena (IAS), Srinivas Gowda, Banumathi Gowda, Dr Mohan Alva, Mohammed Nazeer, Bhushan Gulabrao Borase (IPS), Ananth Naik and Dr Gajanan Prabhu will be the esteemed guests present.

The Human Rights panel invites all those interested to attend the programme and requests the people to motivate them by their presence in this good willed programme.

    Human Rights Awareness gathering that is scheduled at the Town Hall on April 26, 2017 provides an opportunity to the work force , the Veterans, the Social Workers and especially the students to express their concerns and opinions on various issues that relate to the City of Mangalore. Let the prevailing opportunity render the public an ability to express their inner feelings so that such issues can be debated in public and come to a certain conclusion. By pooling various viewpoints of the people the City officials as well as the State authorities and Central Government will come to know some of the basic grievances of the public, specially the students and take into consideration some of the future steps for a timely remedy.

    Let us make no mistake that India is proud of their young population, specially below the age of 30 comprise more than sixty percent of the National population. These students do not have to hold any Public Government position nor be an elected official. But their voice should be taken into timely consideration so that the elected officials may know the public outcry on any issues that concern the future of our City, our State and our Country.

    We strongly support such a gathering on April 26, 2017 so that the interested gathering have a voice to share and a concern to express. This is all in the life of Democracy. This is all in the realm of seeking public opinion in a timely manner so that the Government is aware whats going on outside their official boundary. Best of luck
