Dubai, Apr 23: Rythm Events in association with Nama Tuluveru on its 8th anniversary presented the 61st show of 'Kadala Mage', a serious Tulu drama written in a new comical concept by Vijayakumar Kodialbail, on Friday April 21 at Sheik Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Oud Maitha Road, Dubai.
The show started with a welcome note by Shodhan Prasad who briefed on the past events of the organisers and thanked the audience for their continued support as always. 'Aye Subhage', 'Kaala Chakra', 'Dhumbu Pira' were some of the dramas hosted in the past, apart from blood donation campaigns, Iftar distribution in the labour camps and the record-breaking 'Tuluvere Parba' celebrated with all community members on one platform together. He then introduced and invited the leaders of the organization Ajmal andd Deepak S P along with the coordinator of the show Noel Almeida and senior member Purushottam Salian on to the stage.
He then remembered those Tuluvas who recently passed away in Dubai, specially William Aranha, Nagesh Ganiga and Nagaraj Bhandari. A one-minute prayer was offered with the audience standing before the show continued. He also requested Tuluvas to come forward to help in special cases by arranging to send the mortal remains of Tuluvas who end up in tragic deaths in this part of the world to their beloved ones as soon as possible without delay.
Chief guest Fr Robert Lasrado was invited on to the stage along with Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld, Sarvotham Shetty of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, Shekar Shetty of Arab Udupi Group of Hotels, Harish Sherigar of ACME Building Materials, Joseph Mathias of Merit Freight Systems, Hitesh Shetty of Globelink West Star Shipping, Vijaya Kumar Kodialbail and Rohini Jagaram of Kala Sangama Kalavidaru, Mangaluru. They were all honoured on the stage with bouquets by Ajmal and Deepak; followed by traditional lighting of the lamp, arranged in a different way. Sampath Shetty did the reading of the proceedings.
Fr Robert Lasrado blessed the show, Sarvotham Shetty wished all the best while Vijayakumar Kodialbail briefed on the drama and thanked the audience for their support through the years.
Shodhan briefed on the drama's popularity and later proposed the vote of thanks to all the sponsors and media for their continued support and also to one and all who supported the programme. Later, a clipping of producer Harish Sherigar's 'March 22' Kannada film's trailer was shown on the screen.
The drama started with a very big round of applause as the beautiful, realistic stage setting drew attention of the drama lovers with special effects displaying the Mangaluru beach, set against a background of life-size houses. The drama which was based on current family values with a touch of humour was much appreciated by the whole audience, who were especially swayed by the top-class perfomances of Dinesh Attavar and Subash Pandeshwar. The audience were fully glued to the seats till the end and applauded throughout the performance and even after the drama ended. On the whole, it came as a treat for Tulu drama lovers after a long time.
