Mangaluru, Apr 23: Minister U T Khader has a put a brake to the rumours by saying his brother Ifthikar Ali is not joining BJP.

Some messages appeared in WhatsApp and other social media which said that Ifthikar Ali is prepared to join BJP soon. As these messages were circulated repeatedly for some days, many people were made to believe that the news was true.

“Ifthikar Ali is not joining BJP.  U T Fareed family is loyal to the Congress party. No ways our family members will join BJP for any reason. Ifthikar Ali joining BJP is a pure rumour. I do not know how people will benefit by spreading these types of rumours.” Khader said speaking to reporters in city on Saturday, April 22.

However, Ifthikar Ali himself has not given any statement against him joining BJP.

Khader also said ration cards could not reach intended people as planned due to the noncooperation from revenue department and this problem will be solved within a week.

Commenting on the usage of red beacons for ministers in the state, Khader said “Government gave me this facility once I was made minister. Now if they want to stop this facility as per new rule, let them do it. If chief minister Siddaramaiah suggests or the cabinet decides against using red beacon, I will accept that.”
