Mangaluru, Apr 22: Police have not managed find any clue relating to the death of Jagadish Suvarna whose body was found at Alivebagilu seashore on Friday, April 21.
Jagadish, who had left his house on Thursday night to attend a Mehendi function, was found dead the next day. As some marks were found on the face, police had suspected murder and had registered the case as unnatural death. Brother of the deceased, Shivananda Suvarna, too had demanded proper investigation in to the death, suspecting murder.
Jagadish, who was an active Bajrang Dal (BD) member, had been the convenor of Bengre unit for the past two years.
Panambur police, who registered the case, started the investigations immediately. Upon enquiries from his close friends, it is now learned that Jagadish had consumed excess alcohol during the Mehendi function he attended on Thursday night. After the function, Jagadish had told his friends that he would sleep in the boat in which he worked.
Now it is suspected that Jagadish must have fallen into river while he was boarding the boat or at some other time from the boat. But this theory is speculative and yet to be confirmed by police.
Police are still investigating with the inputs received from fingerprint experts.
