Panaji, Mar 20: The viscera report of a british girl found dead on goa's popular Anjuna beach has confirmed that she had consumed drugs and alcohol before her death.
The police, however, said that the report does not mention whether she died due to drug overdose.
Scarlett Eden Keeling, a 15 year old british national was found dead on Anjuna beach on February 18. The police investigation in the case had established that the girl died after she was drugged, raped and left to die in the shallow beach waters.
"The (viscera) report is positive for drugs and alcohol," inspector general of police Kishan Kumar told news conference today.
He confirmed that the report speaks of cocaine and morphain being found in her body.
Police claim that the report has strengthened their case and confirmed that their line of investigation was right on the track.
"It is not mentioned in the report whether there was a drug overdose," the IGP clarified refusing to comment whether the girl died due to drug overdose.
"It will not be fair on my part to give any opinion," he commented.
Kumar, who was supervising this sensational case right from the day when second autopsy was conducted on Scarlett's body, said that chain of events finally culminated in her death.
