Mangaluru: Konkani-Tulu bilingual movie ‘Ashem Zalem Kashem’ hits screens

Mangaluru, Apr 21: The premier of Konkani- Tulu movie titled, 'Ashem Zalem Kashem’ in Konkani and ‘ Incha Aanda Yencha' in Tulu was released at Suchithra theatre here on Thursday April 21.

Vicar general of Mangaluru diocese Fr Denis Moras Prabhu inaugurated the premiere by lighting the lamp. Fr Victor Machado, parish priest of Kulshekar Church, blessed the show with prayer.

MLA JR Lobo, outgoing Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino, ACP Valentine D’Souza and entrepreneur Elias Sanctis were the chief guests.

In his speech JR Lobo said "The Konkani Tulu movie Ashem Zalem Kashem or Incha Aanda Encha is a new experiment in Coastalwood. We the people of Mangaluru and Udupi region can easily communicate, and understand the Tulu, Konkani and Beary languages. This symbolise our cultural and communal harmony. I feel that this type of movie will help to build strong relationships between communities . I congratulate the entire movie team and wish a great success,”

Speaking in this occasion Roy Castelino said, "There is no doubt that this movie will succeed in uniting the Konkani and Tulu speaking people. I salute the producers and director for their new thought and experiment. Tulu and Konkani languages and cultures are familiar to all local people. So I request all the people to patronise this movie. It will help us to strengthen the bilingual bond. Once again I congratulate the producers and entire crew of this movie."

Anil Lobo Fermai, Wilson D Souza Nithyadhar Nagar, Elias Fernandez, Fr Wilson, lead actor Roopesh Shetty, heroines Cinol Menezes, Jenifer D Souza, star cast of the movie, and well known personalities from Coastalwood were present among others.

Manu Bantwal compered the programme.

This Glorious Angelore Productions venture has been directed by well-known musician, singer and composer Maxim Pereira Angelore.

The star cast of the movie includes RJ Roopesh Shetty in the lead role with Sinol Menezes, accompanied by Ranjitha Louis of 'Noshibacho Khell' fame, Jennifer D'Souza, Rohan, Nikith, Judith D'Souza, Colin Mascarenhas, Jeevan Vas, Joseph Mathias, Roshan Paldane, Umesh Mijar, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Gopinath Bhat, and others.

Music for the film has been composed by Patson Pereira with lyrics by Maxim Pereira, Wilson Kateel, Joe Kulshekar and John Permannur.

The associate director of the movie is Kishore Moodbidri while Satvik Hebbar and Sandeep Bedra are assistant directors of the movie.

The post-production was done at Daijiworld Audio Visuals Mangaluru.

Udaya Ballal has managed the camera for the movie while veteran dramatist John Permannur has written the screenplay and dialogues for the movie. Comedy part of the sreenplay was written by Willaim Pinto Padarengi.
The production of the movie was managed by Maxim Pereira along with Vincent D'souza, Nithyadar Nagar and Joe Pereira Kuwait.

Wilfred Pinto has done the art work. Roy Castelino, Jossy Sequeira, Manu Bantwal, Anil D'Mello, Blany Ammembal are the advisors of the movie.

The production manager of the movie was Carol Prem D'souza of Ferns Production Mumbai.

Daijiworld is the media partner of the movie.

‘Ashem Zalem Kashem” released in Udupi amid fanfare

Udupi, Apr 21: The much-awaited Konkani-Tulu movie ‘Ashem Zalem Kashem' witnessed a grand release here at Ashirwad Theratre.

Fr Fred Mascarenhas lighted the ceremonial lamp to mark the inauguration of the film.



Fr Henry Alva (OFM), Provincial Ministry Canada, Dr Jerry Vincent Dias, promoter, Mandavi Developers; Kishore Gonsalves, director, Daijiworld; actor Alwyn Andrade, producer Maxim Pereira, co-producer Anil D’Mello and Dr Vincent Alva were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jerry said, "The movie should attract crowds and run well. Maxim has produced the movie not with the aim of making money, but for his love and affection towards our mother tongue Konkani. He went through numerous problems to bring this movie out. We have to watch the movie and spread good reviews about it so that the producer earns back his investment. All of us should watch this beautiful movie."

Maxim thanked all the fans who had gathered to watch the premiere show of 'Ashem Zalem Kashem'. "I gave a miss to the release event at Mangaluru today and came here to attend this event. I received a lot of love from all of you when I started my music troupe in 1995. I request all to come and watch the movie and also tell others about it," he said.

'Ashem Zalem Kashem' will be screened four times at Ashirvad theatre, Santhekatte at 10.15 am, 1.30 pm, 4.30 pm, and 7.30 pm.

Planet Theatre, Karkala will have two shows daily at 3.30 pm and 8.30 pm and Inox Multiplex at Manipal will have a show at 7.45 pm.

    Its better to be late than never.......good efforts from our tulunadu people.
    Tulu/konkani/byari etc are all part of our culture with Kannada being our main langauge. We should respect our culture and support such endevaours

    I wish all the best to the produccers/director and actors of this movie which itself is a good experiment to begin with

    Konkani Tulu is fine... We shud have Kannada sub-tiles. this will be huge success, will reach all parts of karnataka...again in twin districts itself there is a huge number which does not Tulu, konkani properly...if there is kannada sub-title they will also be able to enjoy these movies.
