Mangaluru, Apr 19: As per sources in the state BJP, dissidence has started brewing in their party over the autocratic style of functioning of their chief B S Yeddyurappa. Yeddyurappa has already received flak over this issue.
Some leaders who became unhappy with Yeddyurappa after BJP’s defeat in the recently held Nanjangudu and Gundlupet elections, said that “Yeddyurappa’s style of functioning let us down and we were defeated in both constituencies,”
“He took only close aides into confidence. He did not consider leaders from all communities. Moreover he took the by-polls are personal instead of keeping them as party affair,” one dissident said.
“Even for the ‘Thanks’ meetings held after the results were out, he did not invite right leaders. Karandlaje, V Somanna, Limbavali and Ravikumar get more prominence in all the matters. Others are ignored,” another party leader said.
Core committee meeting too, which is supposed to be held every month, has not been held for months, some leaders complained. They have demanded that it should be held without any delay.
It is believed that executive committee meeting to be held on May 6 and 7 in Mysuru will discuss the strategy for the 2018 Assembly elections and it is expected that some leaders will criticize the style of functioning of Yeddyurappa and ask him to change his ways of administration.
