Mangaluru: Complaint on Kudla Express train-HC allows filing objection

Mangaluru, Apr 19: The state High Court (HC) on Tuesday April 18, allowed Udupi Railway Passengers Association to file objection regarding its service to a city station. The Kudla Express train had an original plan to extend its service to Mangaluru Central Railway Station (Hampanakatta). But later it was decided to run the train between Mangaluru Junction (Kankanady) and Yashwantpur in Bengaluru.

Udupi Railway Passengers Association had complained to the HC that during a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the Association earlier, Railways had stated in an affidavit dated March 7 that service will be extended to Mangaluru Central with effect from March 31. But from the day the train was flagged off recently by the railway minister, it ran between Mangaluru Junction and Yashwantpur only.


The advocate representing the Association brought this fact to the notice of the court on Tuesday April 18 and said that the railways gave wrong information to the honourable court. On that basis, the advocate pleaded the court to allow filing objections. The court allowed the complainants to file objections regarding the matter.

Association president R L Dais has stated that he will visit Bengaluru soon and hold talks with his advocate for further action.

    why KSRTC cannot keep a bus to the railway stations on regular basis..efficient public transport system is the answer for this problem.. there is nothing wrong in starting train from mangalore junction

    no doubt this train should be from mangalore central. The night train also shoud run on this route rather than via mysore so it reaches Bangalore by 6 am.

    To go to Bangalore by this train ticket is Rs 165 and for senior citizen Rs 95. For your kind information from Junction to City by auto it is Rs 150 to 200. Mr Poojary it is not matter of KM it is a matter of Rupees

    instead of debating on auto rickshaw charges v should discuss why govt cannot keep a bus to the railway stations on regular basis..efficient public transport system is the answer for this problem.. there is nothing wrong in starting train from mangalore junction

    Our politicians will not allow train to run from Mangaluru central because many politicians invested money on Volvo buses and they run mangaluru to bangaluru daily to do illegal business (luggage)...

    It's not only the Mangalore - Bangalore bus. Even city services are run by our ministers. It's a shame on Mangaloreans, that we can't even fight for our own good cause. We fight among outself for petty causes. We need Volvo bus service to Mangalore Airport as well. But ministers has set up a taxi service in Mangalore Airport which is very expensive compared to any other part of India.
    So everywhere is Goonda raj. Poor people will fight for petty cause and rich MP's take away the cream from the whole episode.

    Terminate Kudla Express at Mangalore Central instead of Mangalore Junction. Travelling from Mangalore Junction to city will be more expensive and difficult.

    I too agree with some of the comments why Mangalore should be under Palghat zone. Mangalore being selected for smart city programme, should have it's own zone under Mangalore and not even under Karnataka. If Mangalore comes under Bangalore zone, Siddu will again thrash Mangalorean's dream for his own political agenda. Not to forget his decison on how he went ahead with Yettinahole project against people of Mangalore's wishes.
    Mangalore zone should be on its own independently.
    Let's join hands for the good cause of Mangalore.

    In Our times people know the temperature by simply glancing at lungi

    If lungi is in normal position - 30 degree.
    If lungi is raised till knees - 35 degree.
    If lungi is raised upto thighs - 40 degrees.

    And when temperature soars above 40 degrees, sit at home not allowed to travel

    Mallu officials claim that Bangalore bound trains are unable to be accommodated at Mangalore Central station due to lack of platform/space. It is prudent enough to shift few Kerala bound train to Ullal station or Mangalore junction such that heavy 'burden' on Mangalore Central station will be eliminated.
    Of heavy traffic from Mangalore central station why new Pondichery train has been started? These leliments are like ants who multiple and make their home in some body's land!!
