Mangaluru: Murder inside primary health centre - garbage disposal worker arrested

Mangaluru, Apr 17: Relating to the murder of a  person inside the compound of government primary health centre near Ladyhill in the city on Sunday, April 9, the police have arrested a person who functions as garbage disposal worker.

The arrested accused happens to be Chandrahas Kulal (38) from Bantwal. The murdered man was Jayendra (30) from Bikarnakatte. It is said that both of them were liquor addicts. Instead of going home at the end of the day, both used to have drinks and sleep in the bus stand. On the night of Saturday April 8, differences had arisen between the two over the issue of cooking food. Chandrahas, in a fit of rage, had attacked Jayendra with a sickle and fled from the scene, it is learnt.

Staff of Antony Waste Handling Company which has the contract to clear garbage in the city, had found during their routine visit to the health centre for collecting waste the next day, that Jayendra was lying in a pool of blood inside the primary health centre compound.They informed the same to Barke police, who reached there and took Jayendra to Wenlock Hospital. However, he could not be revived.
