Latur, Apr 15 (DHNS): A 20-year-old electrical engineering student from Maharashtra’s Latur district, Shradha Mengshete, bagged Rs 1 crore in the mega-draw of the Lucky Grahak Yojana for consumers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shradha won it for making a transaction of Rs 1,590 through her RuPay card to pay EMI for her new mobile phone. The 2nd prize of Rs 50 lakh was won by Hardik Kumar from Khambhat in Gujarat. The 29-year-old is a primary school teacher, who used his RuPay card for making a transaction of Rs 1,100.

A RuPay card transaction of just Rs 100 won Bharat Singh from Sherpur village in Uttarakhand an amount of Rs 25 lakh. The 1st prize of Rs 50 lakh, under the Digi-dhan Vyapar Yojana category for merchants, was won by Anand Ananthapadmanabhan for accepting a payment of Rs 300 at GRT Jewellers in Tambaram, Chennai.

Ananthapadmanabhan donated his prize money to the Clean Ganga campaign.

The 2nd prize of Rs 25 lakh was won by Ragini Rajendra Uttekar, owner of a beauty parlour in Thane, Maharashtra. She won the prize for accepting a payment of Rs 510.

The 3rd prize of Rs 12 lakh was won by 33-year-old Shaik Rafi, who runs a wholesale clothing store in Ameerpet, Telangana. He accepted a payment of Rs 2,000 on his PoS machine. The 100 days of DigiDhan Melas, led by NITI Aayog in 100 cities across India, have had a huge impact in enabling increased usage of digital payment methods.
