Shivamogga, Apr 11: “Many leaders from Congress and JD(S) are willing to join BJP which include former and present legislators. They are in touch with us,” said state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa on Monday, April 10.
Yeddyurappa was speaking after welcoming some new members into his party here who mainly came from Congress and JD(S).
“They have decided to join BJP after admiring the administrative skills of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They cannot join us immediately for some technical reasons. You will see them joining BJP before three months of the next Assembly election.” Yeddyurappa added.
“Once the results of Gundlupet and Nanjangudu by-polls come out on April 13, political polarization will start taking place in the state,” he predicted.
“We had thought that chief minister will concentrate on drought management once by-polls were over. Now he is waiting for results. If he does not take steps to waive the farmers’ loans, we will protest in all the places he visits in future. BJP cannot be held responsible if law and order situation worsens in the state.” he warned.
K S Eshwarappa, Kumar Bangarappa, B Y Raghavendra, Halappa, Ayanuru Manjunath, Bharathi Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
