Kundapur, April 11: Gulvadi Cultrual Foundation honoured media academy awarded Journalist K P Manjunath Sagar with the Gulvadi award for the last year, at Gulvadi Thotadamane, Abdul Khader Auditorium here on Sunday, April 9.
President of Kannda development authority, professor S G Siddaramaiah presided over the programme.
"The film 'Reservation' produced through Gulvadi talkies bagged national honours increasing the prestige of Gulvadi. May it receive international awards. It is usual to produce films spending crores of rupees these days. But this film is produced spending a meagre amount equalling to that spent film song usually. May more films of the like, which provide moral to the society, come up," professor Siddaramaiah said while handing over the award to Manjunath Sagar.
Panchayat scholar Janardhan Maravante, Mata hospital psychiatrist Dr Prakash Tholar, senior notary Nagaraja Hegde Gulvadi, Janapada Academy awardee Bhujanga Maravathe, artist Santhosh Balkooru were felicitated on occasion.
Former MP Jayaprakash Hegde, Atals Hoppers Bengaluru's Devendra Badiger, Kannada development authority secretary Dr K Muralidhar, Yuva Meridian owner Udayakumar Shetty, senior advocate A S N Hebbar, Gulvadi cultural foundation president Mohammed Ali were present.
The poster of art film 'Reservation' produced by Gulvadi talkies was released on occasion.
Newly formed Gulvadi grama panchayat was honored on occasion. Panchayat president Supritha, vice president Mohammed, PDO Chandrakanth and members were felicitated.
Gulvadi cultural foundation secretary Yakub Khader welcomed and gave a key note address. Journalist Subrahmanya Padukone compered the programme. Dr Sathish Poojary sang a film song. Munna Manu Handadi and Sandhya Shenoy presented a comedy evening prior to the programme.
