Shivamogga, Apr 11: “Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa are the two people who started the process of commercialisation of politics in the state. In such case, where do they have the moral authority to talk about corruption?” said chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday, April 10.
Siddaramaiah was speaking to reporters here at helipad during his visit to city.
“The whole election system was made corrupt by Operation Kamala when they bought 8 legislators for the sake of power. Now they are accusing us of corruption during the Nanjangudu and Gundlupet by-polls,” he added.
“They ask us to waive farmer loans. Let them tell the central government to waive the loans availed by farmers at nationalised and commercial banks. Uttar Pradesh government waived agricultural loans as per their promise in election manifesto because they get support from the central government. Let the BJP from the state also do the same, so that we also get help to bail out our farmers from their miseries,” Siddaramaiah said.
“Only 25 % of farm loans are from state cooperative banks. The rest 75 % belongs to nationalised and other commercial banks. The central government should first waive this 75% loan. Then we will follow the suit.” Siddaramaiah opined.
“The difference between Congress and BJP is , we increased the salaries of Anganavadi workers by Rs 4400 during our regime while BJP increased it by only Rs 750 in their five-year rule. “ Siddaramaiah concluded.
