Mangaluru, Apr 8: N Subrahmanya Raju, state president of Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha on Saturday, April 8 launched a scathing attack on the central BJP-led leadership on the issue of Kashmir and also said that an out-of-court settlement on Ayodhya issue was not possible. He also attacked the Congress state government on corruption and said that the Mahasabha would field its candidates in the next state Assembly elections.
Addressing a press meet here, Raju said, "We were hoping for peace and rehabilitation of Kashmiri pandits through the alliance of BJP-PDP government in Jammu and Kashmir. But now it is clear that the BJP formed the government with its ideological enemy PDP as it was hungry for power. The coalition government has done nothing for the development of Kashmir. They have failed to restrict Pakistan-sponsored attacks in various parts of the state and also failed to protect the lives of army personnel. Violence has increased. So if BJP has any concern for the welfare of the people there, it should leave the coalition immediately."
On the Ayodhya issue, he said, "We strongly oppose the use of Ayodhya dispute for political gain. We were the first petitioners for Ayodhya temple in court. The court has now suggested an out-of-court settlement on the issue. This is not possible. We have already formed a committee including the leaders of all major Hindu organizations in India and with their cooperation, we will build the temple," he said.
Slamming the state government, he said, "The Congress government in the state has failed. Corruption is the only major achievement of this government. BJP in the opposition is silent as it was involved in corruption during its tenure. So we have decided to contest the upcoming assembly and corporation elections. We will present good candidates for the next elections.
"The coastal belt of Karnataka is controlled by underworld and various mafia. There is heavy smuggling of cows from Mangaluru to Kerala. Sand mafia is on the rise in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The government has failed to provide protection to its officials from attacks. The recent attack on lady officers in Udupi shows that there is no place for sincere government employees in the state," he stated.
"Ban PFI"
Commenting on the protests held by Popular Front of India (PFI) a few days back, he said, "Organisations like PFI are a threat to the society. The way they took law into their hands and interrupted police officials doing their duty, shows that they are against the law of the land. The government should ban these type of organisations."
Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha secretary Rajesh Pavithran, leaders Naveen, Dharmendra and Roy Suvarna were present.
