Kasargod, Apr 8: A girl student of government higher primary school at Goliyadka near Kumble in the district exemplified her affection for the school when she donated her gold bangle for the development of her school. The incident happened during the cultural programmes of the annual day function of the said school.
The student in question, Archana Das, is a seventh standard student of this school. She is the daughter of M Vidya, working as Hindi teacher in the same school, and Chi Haridasan, teacher of government high school in the town.
When the student removed her bangle and handed over it for the progress of her school in the presence of guests, the gathering turned emotional and appreciative.
Head teacher and other teachers of the school have donated Rs 1.65 lac for the school development fund. Past students of the school have contributed three lac rupees, while the local Santwana Trust donated Rs 10,000. President of parents-teachers association of the school, Usha Raveendran, donated Rs 5,000 to the fund.
